Guangdong Kerun’s “One Hundred Enterprises Assist One Hundred Villages” poverty‑alleviation initiative is ongoing.

On the morning of August 15, the general manager and Party branch secretary of Guangdong Kerun Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. led a team of employees to Tang’an Village, Damai Mountain Town, Liannan County, to implement the specific “One Hundred Enterprises Assist One Hundred Villages” poverty‑alleviation plan. Following an initial visit for condolences and on‑site research, they conducted another field inspection and, leveraging Kerun’s strengths in livestock and poultry farming, formulated an industry‑based poverty‑reduction scheme centered on raising Chinese‑medicine‑flavored chickens. The primary objective of this rural outreach was to put the detailed poverty‑alleviation plan into concrete action.

Drawing on the strengths of both the enterprise and the local community, Kerun Company has been actively exploring new approaches to poverty alleviation. Traditionally, corporate poverty‑relief efforts have tended to focus on “handing out money and goods,” but this approach has proven largely ineffective. Not only does it fail to address the root causes of impoverished households’ lack of self‑reliance, but it can also, to some extent, reinforce a mentality of dependence and entitlement. Accordingly, in advancing the “One Hundred Enterprises Assist One Hundred Villages” initiative, Kerun Company has consistently prioritized innovating mechanisms for linking agricultural enterprises with farmers, seeking solutions from the market and generating returns through industrial development.
Kerun Company has pioneered a “company–farmer” poultry‑raising model, developing a specialized industry focused on raising Chinese‑medicinal‑flavored chickens. This time, the company purchased 650 medium‑aged chicks, 1.5 tons of feed, as well as feeding and watering equipment and nutritional supplements, which were distributed free of charge to impoverished households. A team of the company’s technical experts was dispatched to provide on-site farming guidance, enabling capable impoverished households to engage in the rearing of these medicinal‑flavored chickens. At market time, farmers either sell the chickens themselves for profit or entrust the company with purchasing them. Together, the company and the farmers will continue to refine their practices, accumulate experience, and help farmers gradually expand into small‑scale or large‑scale operations, striving to boost their incomes and lift them out of poverty as soon as possible.

Kerun Company’s industry‑based poverty‑alleviation initiatives fully leverage the enterprise’s unique strengths and catalytic impact in this field, helping impoverished households strengthen their capacity for self‑sustaining income generation, fostering the sustainable development of impoverished villages, ensuring stable income growth for the poor, expanding avenues for increasing earnings, and accelerating the poverty‑reduction process.
Looking forward to your letter.
