2017-08-12
On August 6–7, Guangdong Kerun Pharmaceutical held its 2017 mid-year performance review and training conference in the company’s third-floor multi-purpose hall. The event was attended by Professor Xiong Xian’an of Huazhong Agricultural University, Researcher Luo Lin of the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Technical Director Yang Hongjun of Shanchuan Bio, General Manager Li Hui of Beijing Bigtai, Technical Director Liu Bo of Shandong Shengli, and other distinguished guests. All company employees also took part in the conference.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Zeng Meiju, General Manager of Guangdong Kerun Company. The event was divided into two parts: the first was a mid-year training session for all employees, and the second was a mid-year performance review meeting.
At 8:30 a.m. on August 6, the meeting commenced with an impassioned welcome address delivered by the company’s General Manager, Zeng Meiju, accompanied by rousing applause from the entire audience. All employees warmly welcomed the distinguished teachers and experts who had graced the occasion with their presence and guidance.

First, Professor Xian’an Xiong of Huazhong Agricultural University delivered a presentation on how the company can achieve sustainable growth. Drawing on his extensive experience as a corporate consultant, Professor Xiong reviewed the development trajectories of numerous companies in the industry and underscored the critical importance of talent, market dynamics, capital, and corporate culture to corporate success. He further outlined pathways for continued growth by emphasizing advanced technologies to differentiate products, leveraging customer service to boost sales, implementing rigorous quality‑management systems to ensure product excellence, and fostering a vibrant corporate culture centered on employees.

Next, Researcher Luo Lin from the Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences discussed strategies for enhancing intestinal health in aquaculture species. Focusing primarily on fish, Researcher Luo examined the intestinal health challenges faced by various species and proposed effective measures to improve gut health. Her presentation, delivered from a specialized aquaculture perspective, broadened the trainees’ understanding of the sector and laid the groundwork for the company’s future entry into the aquaculture field.

At 2:00 p.m., Yang Hongjun, Technical Director of Shanchuan Bio, discussed—against the backdrop of current market conditions—how to meet fluctuating consumer demand in an industry increasingly moving toward “antibiotic‑free” practices. Using plant extracts as a starting point, Dr. Yang examined their advantages and future prospects, exploring new avenues and opportunities for the sector amid evolving circumstances. He also addressed how, in the face of intense competition and industry transformation, companies can “dance with antibiotics” while maintaining sustainability and innovation.

Immediately afterward, Li Hui, General Manager of Beijing Bigtai Company, explained the critical importance of execution to corporate development from an execution‑driven perspective. Mr. Li emphasized that execution is the crucial link between goals and outcomes—the capability to translate a company’s long-term strategy into concrete, actionable results. Execution is “actionability”: it means achieving objectives through decisive action and delivering tasks with unwavering precision. Without action, all goals remain mere rhetoric. Mr. Li’s remarks sparked thoughtful reflection among the training participants.

On the morning of August 6 at 8:30 a.m., Dr. Liu Bo, Technical Director of Shandong Shengli Company, presented an analysis of the application and current status of antibiotic feed additives in animal husbandry. Dr. Liu summarized recent domestic and international regulations issued by agricultural authorities pertaining to the livestock sector, and discussed how, amid an increasingly challenging industry landscape, customers can be guided toward the prudent use of antibiotics. He also explored the development of new products, building on the strengths of existing offerings, to ensure the company’s sustained growth.

During the training, the teachers and experts repeatedly commended the company’s new factory for its state-of-the-art laboratory and workshop equipment, as well as its advanced automation. They also praised the comfort of both the office and dormitory environments. The day before the conference, the group toured the facility and offered high praise for the new plant’s construction. The new factory employs automated production lines, placing it at the forefront of industry‑wide automation. Moreover, the training sessions—whether viewed from an industry perspective or a corporate development standpoint—provided valuable recommendations for strengthening both the company’s hard and soft capabilities, offering insights that all employees can learn from and apply.

Next up is the company-wide performance review meeting for department heads. Each department head, in light of their respective job responsibilities, will summarize and analyze the first half of the year’s work and outline plans for the second half. The summary will highlight achievements and identify challenges, while exploring viable solutions to ensure more effective execution in the months ahead and continuous improvement in both efficiency and performance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, General Manager Zeng delivered a closing address. He commended the hard work of all employees during the first half of the year and expressed his gratitude for their dedicated efforts during the challenging transition between the old and new facilities. He also urged all staff to remain passionate, stand united, and continue to build on our collective achievements as members of the Kerun family.

Looking forward to your letter.
