Research Symposium

On the afternoon of November 2, Guo Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Qingyuan Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, led a delegation to conduct an on-site inspection of the Guangqing Industrial Park and convened a symposium to coordinate solutions to the challenges and issues hindering the park’s progress. He emphasized that, guided by the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, efforts should be redoubled to accelerate the development of the Guangqing Industrial Park, leveraging the park’s growth to offset the decline in our city’s industrial transformation and structural adjustment.

According to the report, at present, The Guangqing Industrial Park has signed agreements for 162 projects, with a planned total investment of RMB 60.4 billion. Upon reaching full production capacity, annual output value is expected to reach RMB 166.4 billion, and annual tax revenue is projected at RMB 7.1 billion. To date, 14 enterprises have commenced production or are in trial operation, with this number expected to rise to 30 by year-end. In the first nine months of this year, the park’s industrial gross output value totaled RMB 3.547 billion, with full-year output projected at RMB 6 billion; industrial fixed asset investment reached RMB 1.9 billion, with an annual target of RMB 3 billion; industrial value added stood at RMB 802 million, with a full-year forecast of RMB 1.5 billion. The park currently hosts six large-scale industrial enterprises, which have collectively generated RMB 13.412 billion in industrial gross output value; an additional four such enterprises are expected to be added before year-end.

“The Guangqing Industrial Park is a vital industrial platform for the paired assistance between Guangzhou and Qingyuan and for their integrated development, and it also represents the future and hope of Qingyuan’s industrial growth,” Guo Feng said, offering high praise for the park’s construction and development. He added, The Guangqing Industrial Park has played a vital role in driving Qingyuan’s urban economic development. Each time I conduct an on-site inspection, I witness new projects, fresh changes, a renewed momentum, and robust progress—testaments to the extensive and highly effective efforts undertaken by the park’s leadership, relevant municipal departments, Qingcheng District, and Shijiao Town.

Guo Feng emphasized that the Guangqing Industrial Park should be guided by the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Promote the continued acceleration of development in the industrial park. Implement the arrangements on industrial development outlined in the report of the 19th National Congress, further emancipate our minds, refine the park’s industrial planning, deepen collaborative industrial development with the Pearl River Delta, proactively integrate into the region’s industrial value chains, and foster the growth of leading industries.

“We must leverage the existing momentum of the Guangqing Industrial Park to offset the decline resulting from the shift toward a more extensive, less targeted industrial restructuring,” Guo Feng emphasized. The Guangqing Industrial Park is to accelerate the attraction, site selection, commencement, and commissioning of projects, achieve all annual targets, and expedite the expansion of Zone A as well as the construction of Zones B and C, thereby making an even greater contribution to the city’s economic development.

At the meeting, Guo Feng addressed one by one the issues raised by the Guangqing Industrial Park that require support and coordination from the municipal government.

Qingyuan municipal leaders He Guosen and Wei Guohua, along with heads of relevant municipal and Qingcheng District departments, attended the inspection. Hu Zhijun, Director of the Guangqing Industrial Park Management Committee, reported on the park’s development and construction progress and outlined the issues requiring support and coordination from the Qingyuan Municipal Government.
