【Characteristics】 This product is a off-white to pale yellow powder.
[Pharmacological Actions]
Aminoglycoside antibiotics. Neomycin exerts a bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and exhibits particularly potent activity against bacteria in the stationary phase, classifying it as a stationary-phase bactericidal agent. Its antibacterial spectrum is primarily limited to Gram-negative bacteria, and it is ineffective against anaerobic organisms.
Neomycin is not absorbed when administered orally and is primarily used to treat infections caused by susceptible intestinal bacteria.
[Functions and Uses]
Aminoglycoside antibiotic. Used to treat intestinal diseases in aquatic animals such as fish, shrimp, and river crabs caused by Aeromonas, Edwardsiella, and Vibrio species.
【Usage and Dosage】
Calculated on the basis of this product. Bait mixing and feeding: 10 mg per kg of body weight for fish, shrimp, and river crabs. Administer once daily for 4–6 consecutive days.
[Adverse Reactions] No adverse reactions have been observed when used as directed.
[Precautions] With prolonged use, susceptible bacteria are prone to developing resistance.
[Withdrawal Period] 500 degree-days.
