【Characteristics】 This product is a off-white powder.
[Pharmacological Actions]
This product exhibits excellent efficacy against Eimeria species in chickens, including E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. brunetti, E. acervulina, and E. mitis, and remains effective even against coccidia that have developed resistance to other anticoccidial agents. It primarily inhibits the reproduction of first-generation schizonts and also exerts activity against second-generation schizonts, with peak efficacy occurring on the third day post‑infection. It is also effective against various coccidian species in rabbits. The mechanism of action involves disrupting the endoplasmic reticulum in the parasite’s cytoplasm, thereby impairing protein metabolism and leading to swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, as well as inhibition of oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Coccidia can readily develop resistance to this product.
After oral administration, the drug is metabolized in the body into nine metabolites, including p‑chlorotoluene. Following a single dose, 82% of the administered dose is excreted within 24 hours, and 99% is eliminated by day 6.
[Functions and Uses] Anticoccidial drug. Used for coccidiosis in chickens and rabbits.
【Usage and Dosage】 Based on this product. Mixed feeding: per 1,000 kg of feed, 300–600 g for chickens; 1,000–1,500 g for rabbits.
[Adverse Reactions] No adverse reactions have been observed when used as directed.
[Precautions]
(1) May be used in commercial feed and during the farming process.
(2) Chickens raised for egg production intended for human consumption shall not be used during the laying period.
(3) Long-term feeding at high concentrations (60 mg/kg feed) may cause an off‑odor in chicken meat and eggs. However, at lower concentrations (<30 mg/kg feed), this effect does not occur.
(4) When this product is used for the prevention and treatment of certain coccidiosis, premature discontinuation of the drug often leads to recurrence; therefore, continuous administration is recommended.
