[Veterinary Drug Name]
Common Name: Diclazuril Premix
Product Name: Kerundik Ball
English Name: Diclazuril Premix
Pinyin: Dikezhuli Yuhunji
[Main Ingredients] Diclazuril
[Pharmacological Actions]
Diclazuril is a triazine‑type anticoccidial agent that primarily inhibits the proliferation of sporozoites and schizonts. Its peak activity against coccidia occurs during the sporozoite stage and the first generation of schizonts—namely, within the first two days of the coccidian life cycle. It exhibits coccidiocidal activity and is effective at all stages of coccidian development. It demonstrates good efficacy against Eimeria species such as E. tenella, E. maxima, E. necatrix, E. brunetti, and E. meleagridis in chickens, as well as against coccidia in ducks and rabbits. When administered to chickens via mixed feed, only a small fraction is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract; however, due to the low dosage, the total amount absorbed is minimal, resulting in low drug residues in tissues. At a dose of 1 mg/kg in feed, the average residue level in chicken tissues was found to be below 0.063 mg/kg seven days after the last administration. Diclazuril has low toxicity and is safe for both poultry and livestock. Prolonged use may promote the development of resistance; therefore, it should be used in rotation or for short treatment periods. Its duration of action is brief, and its effects are essentially eliminated two days after discontinuation.
[Functions and Uses] An anticoccidial drug. Used for the prevention of coccidiosis in poultry and rabbits.
【Usage and Dosage】 Based on this product. Mixed feeding: 200 g per 1,000 kg of feed for poultry and rabbits.
[Adverse Reactions] No adverse reactions have been observed when used as directed.
[Precautions]
(1) May be used in commercial feed and during the farming process.
(2) Poultry raised for egg production intended for human consumption shall not be treated during the laying period.
(3) This product has a short duration of action; after discontinuation for one day, its anticoccidial efficacy is markedly reduced, and by the second day, its effect has essentially disappeared. Therefore, continuous administration is essential to prevent a recurrence of coccidiosis.
(4) This product is formulated at an extremely low concentration; the feed must be thoroughly mixed, otherwise its efficacy will be compromised.
