    [Veterinary Drug Name]

    Generic Name: Enrofloxacin Soluble Powder

    Product Name: Kenuoxing

    English Name: Enrofloxacin Soluble Powder

    Pinyin: Ennuoshaxing Kerongxingfen

    [Main Ingredients] Enrofloxacin

【Characteristics】 This product is a white or pale yellow powder.

    [Pharmacological Actions]

Pharmacodynamics Enrofloxacin belongs to Fluoroquinolones are broad-spectrum bactericidal agents intended for veterinary use. They exhibit excellent activity against Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Pasteurella, Proteus, Serratia marcescens, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, and other pathogens; however, their efficacy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and streptococci is limited. The drug exhibits weak activity and minimal efficacy against anaerobic bacteria. It demonstrates a pronounced post‑antibiotic effect against susceptible organisms. Its antibacterial mechanism involves inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase, thereby disrupting bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair/recombination, leading to impaired growth and eventual cell death.

Pharmacokinetics   In most animals, this product is well absorbed when administered orally. In chickens, the oral bioavailability ranges from 62.2% to 84%, and it is widely distributed throughout the body, readily penetrating tissues and body fluids—including bone. With the exception of cerebrospinal fluid, drug concentrations in nearly all tissues exceed those in plasma. Hepatic metabolism primarily involves the removal of the ethyl group from the 7‑piperazinyl ring to form ciprofloxacin, followed by oxidation and glucuronidation. The drug is mainly eliminated via the kidneys—through renal tubular secretion and glomerular filtration—with 15% to 50% excreted unchanged in the urine. In chickens, the oral half-life of this product is 9.1 to 14.2 hours.

    [Drug Interactions]

    (1) Exhibits a synergistic effect when used in combination with aminoglycosides and broad-spectrum penicillins.

    (2) Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , Fe 3+ , Al 3+ Heavy metal ions can form chelates with this product, thereby affecting its absorption.

    (3) Co-administration with theophylline and caffeine may inhibit the metabolism of the latter, leading to abnormally elevated plasma concentrations of theophylline and caffeine, and potentially resulting in symptoms of theophylline toxicity.

    (4) It inhibits hepatic drug-metabolizing enzymes; when used in combination with drugs metabolized in the liver, it may reduce their clearance and increase their plasma concentrations.

    (5) Probenecid can inhibit its renal tubular secretion and excretion, thereby prolonging its half-life.

    [Functions and Uses]

Quinolone antibacterial agent. Indicated for bacterial diseases and mycoplasma infections in chickens and racing pigeons.

    【Usage and Dosage】

Based on this product. Mixed drinking: 0.5 per 1 L of water for chickens. Approximately 1.5 g, twice daily, for continuous use. 3 ~5 day; Racing pigeon 5 g, Consecutive use 3 ~5 Day.
