【Characteristics】 This product is a white or off-white powder.
[Pharmacological Actions]
Pharmacodynamics Belongs to amoxicillin beta - β‑Lactam antibiotics with a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity. Their antibacterial spectrum and potency are essentially comparable to those of ampicillin; however, their activity against most Gram‑positive bacteria is slightly weaker than that of penicillin. They are susceptible to penicillinase and therefore ineffective against penicillin‑resistant Staphylococcus aureus. They exhibit strong activity against Gram‑negative organisms such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Brucella, and Pasteurella, though these bacteria readily develop resistance. They are inactive against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Due to superior absorption in monogastric animals compared with ampicillin and higher plasma concentrations, they demonstrate better efficacy in systemic infections. They are indicated for systemic infections caused by susceptible pathogens affecting the respiratory, urinary, skin, and soft tissue systems.
Pharmacokinetics Amoxicillin is highly stable in gastric acid, and in monogastric animals, 74% to 92% of the administered dose is absorbed. Gastrointestinal contents affect the rate of absorption but not the extent; therefore, it can be administered via mixed feed. Following oral administration at equivalent doses, amoxicillin achieves serum concentrations 1.5 to 3 times higher than those of ampicillin.
[Drug Interactions]
(1) When this product is used in combination with aminoglycosides, it can increase the intracellular concentration of the latter, resulting in a synergistic effect.
(2) Fast-acting bacteriostatic agents such as macrolides, tetracyclines, and lincosamides interfere with the bactericidal activity of this product and should not be used in combination.
[Functions and Uses]
beta -β-Lactam antibiotics. Used to treat infections in chickens caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that are susceptible to amoxicillin.
【Usage and Dosage】
Based on this product. For oral administration: administer 0.2–0.3 g per kg body weight, twice daily for 5 consecutive days; for mixed drinking: add 0.6 g per liter of water, and use continuously for 3–5 days.
[Adverse Reactions] It has a strong disruptive effect on the normal gastrointestinal microbiota.
[Precautions]
(1) Chickens raised for egg production intended for human consumption shall not be used during the laying period.
(2) It is not indicated for infections caused by penicillin‑resistant Gram‑positive bacteria.
(3) Prepare and use immediately.
