【Characteristics】 This product is a pale yellow or yellow crystalline powder.
[Pharmacological Actions]
Tetracycline antibiotics. Doxycycline reversibly binds to a receptor on the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, interfering with the formation of the ribosomal complex between tRNA and mRNA, thereby inhibiting peptide chain elongation and suppressing protein synthesis, which rapidly arrests bacterial growth and reproduction. Doxycycline exhibits activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Cross‑resistance exists between doxycycline and oxytetracycline.
It is rapidly absorbed when administered orally, exhibits minimal food‑related variability, has high bioavailability, penetrates tissues effectively, distributes widely, and maintains an effective plasma concentration for a prolonged period. In pigs, its protein binding rate is 93%.
[Functions and Uses] Tetracycline-class antibiotics. Used to treat Escherichia coli infections, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, and respiratory diseases caused by Mycoplasma in pigs and chickens, as well as infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
【Usage and Dosage】 Based on this product. For mixed drinking: 0.25–0.5 g per liter of water for pigs; 3 g per liter of water for chickens. Administer continuously for 3–5 days.
[Adverse Reactions] Long-term use may lead to superinfection and liver damage.
[Precautions]
(1) Prohibited during the laying period of egg-laying hens.
(2) Avoid administering concurrently with feeds that are relatively high in calcium.
