【Characteristics】 This product is a pale yellow powder.
[Pharmacological Actions]
This product is a sulfonamide antiprotozoal agent; its peak activity occurs against the second-generation schizonts of coccidia, and it also exhibits some efficacy against first-generation schizonts. It possesses potent antibacterial activity and is effective against avian pasteurellosis and typhoid fever. Furthermore, this product does not interfere with the host’s development of immunity to coccidia.
After oral administration, this product is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, with peak plasma concentrations achieved within 3 to 4 hours, and it is promptly excreted by the kidneys.
[Functions and Uses] Sulfonamide anticoccidial drug. Used for the treatment of coccidiosis in sheep, chickens, and rabbits.
【Usage and Dosage】
Based on this product. For mixed drinking: 1 g per 1 L of water for broilers and turkeys; administer continuously for 3 days. For mixed feeding: 2,000 g per 1,000 kg of feed for broilers and turkeys; administer continuously for 3 days; for rabbits, 2,000 g per 1,000 kg of feed; administer continuously for 5–10 days. For oral administration: the daily dose is 1.2 mL per kg of body weight for sheep (prepared as a 10% aqueous solution); administer continuously for 3–5 days.
[Adverse Reactions] No adverse reactions have been observed when used as directed.
[Precautions]
(1) Chickens raised for egg production shall not be used during the laying period.
(2) When administering medication via drinking water, the continuous duration of use should not exceed 5 days.
(3) It shall not be added to feed for long-term use.
[Withdrawal Period] Turkey: 4 days; broiler chicken: 1 day; sheep and rabbit: 28 days.
